There’s a lot of people who think the politics of Los Angeles shifted towards a progressive bent just because of an influx of immigrants into the area. That willfully ignores all the immigrant organizing that went into building a progressive, pro-worker consensus in the city.

It’s reductive and very stupid of the Democrats to expect Latinos will just vote blue no matter what — that’s an expectation not borne out in the election data. Outreach and organization are required.
