Except for one thing. He had a small percentage of supporters that were quite toxic. They had a name:

1) Being White
2) Hostile towards women
3) Dismissive of BIPOC
In particular, their attacks on Hillary Clinton supporters became a problem. So much so that Hillary supporters had to make a secret Facebook group to avoid harassment.

I speak as a BIPOC & I have heard the same thing from many other BIPOC: Pretending that a hostile minority of White Male Leftists doesn't exist is like denying that police brutality is a problem.
It protects the aggressors, rather than the victims.

That voter base should be ours! Leftism has a rich tradition in the Black community. We are a natural fit.

How do we grow AND maintain Progressive values?
Step 1: Take responsibility for why the coalition failed before.
Step 2: Show BIPOC that they have a genuine home with the Left, rather than a slot that is conditional on not pissing off White Male Leftists.
