A lot has been written off late for media by celebs, and even by many of my journalist friends including me. However, many celebs have just blamed the entire section of media for a few rotten apples...
Here’s something I wish to ask: We have reached out to you personally when SSR passed away, to give your take on nepotism debate, on the chaos around SSR & also when Rhea was questioned in this entire case...
We also reached out to you when Kangana sparked the nepotism debate, but got no answer. Infact, your PRs & managers told us strictly NOT to ask you questions on: Kangana, Nepotism Debate, Drug Angle in SSR-Rhea case, on SSR’s death case...
You maintained silence when the SSR case created a stir in our country, you chose to quit social media but didn’t come to speak on this case. Of course, the way media is hounding Rhea is wrong, and many of us came in support of her...
But where were you when media needed your reaction on these matters concerning to the industry? Why you maintained silence? Why only selective bunch of actors took to Twitter to react on CBI’s intervention in SSR’s case? (Contd)
It doesn’t end here...Even before his death, no personal interviews have been given to many of us including me except if it if for your film promotions (which again came with instructions to not ask certain questions to you, and with respect - many of us even followed the same!)
You chose to answer these questions on special chat show with Masand or Chopra! Even now after 10 years in Bollywood,I struggle to get an interview of an A-lister only coz they’re comfortable to talk to Masand & answer his questions than to respond to similar question asked by me
Oh the senior journalist is close to them, and also attend their parties, and Anupama has a Bollywood connection. I’ve very selective friends in Bollywood, and they have an equation beyond work as well, and I appreciate it.
But overall, I’ve seen Bollywood being super selective in choosing the media platform they want to get interviewed by! These are the same platforms who have run blind items on you, and your dear friend, SSR who’s no more...
Will you still support these media houses? Or will you choose to give interviews to those who are doing a fair coverage on everything related to Bollywood?
While my journalist friends & I have chosen to take a stand on yellow journalism, hope you also take a stand for your own fraternity members, and choose the right medium to raise your voice...Peace!
