A D.C. Council oversight hearing on the preparations for the Nov. 3 election has started. Stay tuned for tweets and updates.
"Any person voting on Election Day will likely have lines no matter what," says @charlesallen, encouraging people to vote by mail or vote early.
"Our voters' confidence was shaken a bit with the June 2 primary," says @tweetelissa. "I have been critical of the [elections] board's leadership. I will still be critical of the board leadership, but I don't want that to be a reflection of the hard work of [election workers]."
"We need to make voting as easy and accessible as possible," says Silverman, agreeing with the election board's decision to mail every registered a ballot instead of making them request one as they did during the primary.
"My major concern... is how the board is communicating with the public," concludes Silverman.
. @AnitaBondsDC says November's turnout is likely to be "tremendous," and she's guessing it will be bigger than in 2008. "I hope everyone who gets one will use it," she says of mail ballots.
. @kenyanmcduffie raises an important issue ahead of the election: steps that will be taken to assist senior citizens. There are lots of elderly voters in his ward, and there were complaints during the primary that they couldn't easily vote.
