McConnell plans to try & push a “skinny” relief bill through the Senate today. “Skinny” is one word for it. Emaciated. Malnourished. Inadequate. Insufficient. Inappropriate. Insulting. Unjust. Those are some other words for it.
The bill includes limited liability for employers related to COVID-19 lawsuits. This is all McConnell really cares about. That, and providing political cover for Senate Republicans who are facing tough reelection campaigns:
McConnell is "hoping for at least 51 Republican votes. While that won’t bring the bill up for a vote, it will give vulnerable Senate Republicans up for reelection this November some ammunition against their opponents."
