for every queer person who comes out because staying closeted means death there is another queer person who cannot come out because leaving the closet means death
this sounds metaphorical but it's not. this is the reality of our lives
if you can't conceive of protecting both, don't open your damn mouth to protect just one because you can't extend your empathy far enough
not to over-share on main but I had a GOOD coming-out experience, and I still hid my gender for multiple years & still blocked out the entire convo w/ my parents because it was so anxiety-inducing & traumatic. like that memory is a black box to me and that was a POSITIVE instance
