I wasn’t alive on 9/11, but when I look back on the photos and videos from that terrible day, I can’t help but think of the bravery of those 412 first responders who lost their lives just to save strangers. Those guys are nothing but heroes. (Cont.)
It didn’t matter if you were a Republican or a Democrat that day - you were an American. It’s sad we’ve slipped away from that. The polarization and divide in our society is upsetting and I admit I fall victim to that. I hope one day we can get back to that. (Cont.)
As New Yorkers and as Americans, 9/11 taught us the power of coming together as one and resillience. We got through that period through love and respect for each other. We’ll get through this tough time right now, because that’s what New Yorkers and Americans do. (Cont.)
We get back up. We rebuild. We remember the pain and the loss, but we become stronger. These firefighters below lost 343 brothers that day, but they still had the strength to lift up that flag out of the rubble and show the world you can’t defeat America. Never Forget 🇺🇸
