One thing that bothers me about the US Left's anti-racism campaigns is the arrogance and condescension.

They are claiming to want to stop racism, as if they are the only ones who want to, as if the only way to do it is their way.
You have to say "Black Lives Matter". Not "All Lives Matter," that's racist. Somehow.

You have to say the words *they* want you to say.

They make themselves judges and arbiters of racism.
The NFL shoved their condescension in our face again last night.

Two anthems.

Why? Why two? Do we now have "separate-but-equal" anthems?
The Texans stayed in the locker room for both anthems, as they apparently thought it was the best way to show they weren't favoring one anthem or one race over the other anthem.
The effect, however, was that they were not on the field to honor the nation, the flag, and the anthem.
From one perspective, that's not a big deal.

There is nothing about a sporting event that necessitates a show of patriotism.
From other perspectives, tho, it's horrible.

It elevates a song written specifically for the interests and struggles of one race to a National Anthem.

And it prevents an act of patriotism that unites the nation in a time we have too many divisions.
The Chiefs stayed on for both.

So the NFL woeness promoted division, even between the two teams playing the game.
Then they got together on the field for a moment of unity.

We already HAD a moment for unity. It was called "Standing for the National Anthem".

That means the game's Moment of Unity was a specific rejection of normal Unity.
This is typical of the Left. They say of Trump "He will not divide us," and mean: "He will not unite us under patriotism." and "We will allow unity and peace ONLY under Leftist Totalitarianism."
Patrick Mahomes II is praised for finding the right tone, the right threading of the needle, to show support for black issues without alienating anyone who isn't black.

But he failed at that, for me, this time.
Because he explained his appearance in an (to me, explicitly racist) BLM video as “It was a cumulation of seeing all this happen and wanting it to stop and wanting us to find a better way of preventing these instances that happen,”
(continued)
and:
"it was just all of it happening and me feeling like, ‘Enough is enough, we’ve got to do something about this.’"
and:
“But I’m going to do my best to make this world a better place and this is the right moment to do it.”
There's nothing wrong with this.
He isn't wrong, he isn't bad, and he's doing his best to not be divisive.
And maybe it's unfair to mention his name in this.

My problem is with the BLM, and Anti-FA, and woke sports, and Democrats.
I only bring in Patrick Mahomes because he's leading a lot of the effort by the NFL to do this woeness without alienating fans, because Mahomes is so personable and clearly sincere and honorable.
But here's the point of the thread.

The NFL has "It takes all of us" and "End racism" painted in the end zones on the football field.
They are allowing players to put names of prominent victims of police brutality or slogans on their helmets.
And it is this condescension that bothers me more than the racism of BLM.
They say we can only end racism if we do it THEIR way.

They say we can only end racism and improve the nation if we support THEM.
All my efforts to eliminate my own racist thoughts, all my arguments with racists online, all my advocacy that People are People regardless of skin color, my own interracial friendship and marriage: none of that matters if I don't say "Black Lives Matter"
All the things I've done to fight against anti-semitism and push for the individual right to self-defense and to criticize anyone who looks down on blacks & assigns negative characteristics by race: they reject my efforts in favor of "End Racism" and "It takes All of Us" slogans.
They are the only ones who can end racism, on their terms, using their methods only.

Any attempt to end racism on your own is apparently racist.
The United States WAS ALREADY UNITED on the notion that we needed to reform police procedures and policy after George Floyd's death.
The protests and riots and looting and murders just eroded support and delayed action, and now with the full footage and full autopsy report out, the chance to strike while the iron was hot is lost.
but worse, it kept the issue stoked among Woke and Activist communities.
So now that the unity to make changes has been split by finding out the Floyd video looked worse than it actually was, the black community is going to be angry when the cops are acquitted and nothing changes
And at the same time, the original riots and protests have advanced and morphed to the point that they have nothing to do with George Floyd, and are just the Revolutionary Left enjoying destruction and murder for the fun of it.
And Black Lives Matter's activities have directly resulted in the deaths of more than a dozen people, including blacks.

But if you're reading this, you know all this.
I just wanted to emphasize I'm irritated with Mahomes, not for what he said, but for lending support to an organization and activity that explicitly rejects all of my attempts to improve race relations over decades of my lifetime, in favor of slogans and empty gestures.
I think after this, I'm going to ignore it all.

I'm not going to complain about it on social media. I'm not going to write blogs about it. I'm not going to go to the sports websites and try to score color-blind advocacy points against BLM advocates.

I'm just going to watch.
I'm not going to give their movement ANY of my oxygen.

And if they go too far, I'm just going to stop watching.

It won't be a decision, it will just be a feeling that I've had enough.

No warning. No negotiation. No chance to return.

I'll just stop. Forever.
that's what they are risking.

The opposite of love isn't hate.

It's apathy.

I won't stand and be called a racist for not embracing Marxist racism.

I won't fight against it. I'll just leave.

And eventually, they'll be in a room, alone, yelling at themselves.
I don't need anything they offer.
it's not a boycott.

It's just: I won't be lectured to by brainwashed fools.
this...wasn't my best Gita-bomb.
Maybe 9/11 isn't the best day to say it, either.
But I listen to my muse, so I wrote it.

Finis.
