True story: 32 years ago, I took the train from Newcastle with a couple of friends to explore a bit of Sydney CBD and spend some saved pocket money. The fantastic day out was ruined when I realised I'd lost my wallet....with all of our return train tickets(!!!) plus [cont]
my ATM Keycard etc (cont). Standing on the concourse at Central Station - with an obvious "we're stuffed" looked on our young faces - a well-dressed man approached and asked if we needed any help. The man listened without judgement and proceed to walk over to the [cont]
to the ticket sales window. He took out his wallet and paid for three tickets. He smiled, wished us all the best and walked off. A couple of years later, that bloke became the Premier of NSW... I had no idea he was a politician! Today, he passed away. [cont]
I never reached-out to say THANK YOU all these years later, and today I actually lost the chance to. RIP John Fahey.
