Those that do not know me, I am Iya Ehime (Sangodosu). I am an Iyalorisa, a Sango priestess and an Omo Awo of Isese Ifa
This thread will be holding resources for people interested in the tradition as practiced on the continent

A few disclaimers!
-Not everyone needs to initiate
-Not everyone needs to be practice the Ifa & Orisha tradition
-There are rules in Ifa that must be followed, New Age mindset should be left at the door
-Ifa is an oral tradition, books are seldom. Elders are important

Ifa is a Divination System and indigenous practice of the Yoruba people in West Africa. Within Ifa holds the sacred odu which is the womb or pot. And this womb holds the sacred text of life. The conception of the universe and the wisdom of the cosmos is in Ifa.

There is a total of 256 huge odus that hold everything. Everything is in Ifa. Ifa shows up in binary code, and if you’re an esoteric math geek interested into sacred spirals you’ll love it! My elder calls Ifa the first computer.

More about Ifa here:

In the continental traditional practice of the Ifa/Orisha tradition things are orally taught and this helps us really memorize the odus.
If we made it all an actual literal book, you are looking at approx. 20,480 pages of text to memorize. Which is virtually impossible

And for Isese (traditional) folks, the books out there are also seldom.

I’m very big on preaching that the first connection with spirits you should be creating should be with your own folks. Through them they will even guide you to your future elders that will assist you on your path. Get to know them

Adding my thread of the dynamic Esu onto this, so Baba can bless it and let it find its way to anyone who needs it https://twitter.com/ehimeora/status/1256615609137344515?s=21
Here is a thread I made way back dissecting Black Is King for Orisha imagery! It’s worth it to read the comments as people have been having good dialogues and clarifying things I wrote here
