Obfuscating license plates with "blue tape" lines has become a pattern among the police-enabled pro-Trump vehicle caravans. This functions as both a signal to police and an attempt to avoid accountability for when they engage in hazardous or violent behavior.

For folks questioning whether or not this tactic is a pattern or isolated phenomena, here is a stunning video shot by @1misanthrophile on another coast, roughly 2 months ago. I've seen it first deployed by Proud Boy types and later used more widely.
