Hi it would really mean a lot if you could take some time to read this because its really important to me. As a Christian, I feel like I need to address this because its something that is way too normalized and no one has said anything about it.
This thread might be a bit long but please, this is really important to me.
I'm going to start off with the Bible verse, Exodus 20:7 which says, "You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God."

Basically meaning, if it is not necessary or completely irrelevant to be using the name of Jesus, don't use it. His name is not to be used casually, it is to be used with respect.
By misusing, I mean people sometimes if they're angry or frustrated will say (and I'm just using this to prove a point although I don't really curse) "Fuck" "Sh!t" "Damn" while others If they're angry, say "Jesus Christ" "Christ" "Jesus"
This is just one example I can think of that is really disrespecting the name of Jesus and misusing his name. I'm sure there are others, but I mostly see people using it like this. Let me just say why I find it really offensive.
When Christians pray, we pray in the name of Jesus, because we believe that His name is powerful enough to save, to heal, and to do the impossible. We believe He is our Lord and Saviour.
And yes, I know most people who misuse His name aren't Christians and don't follow the teachings of the Bible. This still applies to you, because if you don't believe, then why are you using His name like that in the first place?? There's no reason.
Jesus is the center of my Faith, without Him, there would be nothing for me to believe in. My Faith to me is more than just "religion" it's my relationship with my God. So when you misuse His name, it hurts me as well because that is someone I believe I am close to.
I just hope you can understand what I am trying to say and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I don't think it's too much to ask you to just watch the way you use the name of Jesus.
If the situation is about something completely irrelevant to Him, you shouldn't be speaking His name just because "You meant nothing of it" I'm not saying you can't ever use the name of Jesus, no no, I'm just asking you to be careful and watch how you use it.
I follow a lot of Christians and I'm not sure if we're on the same page with this whole topic but I mean... it literally says it in the Bible.
This thread was not to attack/offend anyone but just to educate. I was scared to address this because I've never been vocal about my Faith before. Please feel free to ask me questions if you have any.
Also, you can agree/disagree but please do not try and tell me this "isn't a big deal" and that I shouldn't be offended by it. It disgusts me how normalized it is to the point people can just say it in movies too. I know the sickening feeling I get when I hear someone misuse it.
