My stomach is a wreck and I'm a shell of a human, but here are my thoughts, for what little they are worth.
Biden WILL win today. It's not the huge win we wanted, it still shows there are 70m people who vote out of fear, ignorance, hatred and stupidity. BUT Biden will win.

he's not the Progressive candidate people wanted, but to over simplify he's not Donald Trump. The immediate threat is to remove Trump, and more importantly, his cabinet from power. Biden has the White House means he appoints the AG and takes back the DOJ.
Dems gain ONE Senate seat, but can't take the Senate. BUT with the White House, and the DOJ and the AG people can't be held accountable. GOPers who commit perjury or contempt will face consequences. Trump and his family WILL be prosecuted. They cannot be saved by the Senate.
DHS, Treasury, it goes back to being AT LEAST not in control of a man looking out only for himself and his mush brain. CDC, all the government agencies we need to help control COVID will at least be back in control of sane people.
we can stop the hemorrhaging and start trying to figure out how to train and get back into shape. Pelosi will have to go. She failed, she failed big time. Her "gentleman's game" approach of politics just isn't effective. We need people who will go for the throat.
Polls don't matter, especially when it comes to the GOP. You cannot flip GOP voters. Here's another bit of good news, as much as it sucks to see McConnell's puffy bloat face, he's old. He's got MAYBE five to ten years left of life. Nature will get him and that's good.
today will be hard, this will will be awful, from now until Mid-January will be dangerous and frustrating. BUT I have a kernel of hope. This Winter will be riddled with death, but this Spring, this Spring we may start to see the shoots of something hopeful, green.
A big part of this is generational. Lots of old people voting and in Government will die. It's harsh, but true. Also Trump is a blank avatar of hope to the scared, the people who's lives are fading, who's long standing privilege is dissolving. We get HIM gone and his cabinet gone
New progressive blood took seats in the House and in State seats, progress is inevitable, although slow. I am holding out hope that Biden just manages to take this. I know we'll at the end have likely a million American dead of COVID and the GOP will have the Senate, BUT
despite that we'll be in a better place and a better position. That probably says more about how big of a hole we're in. But progress is progress. The White House is the big one, take out Trump and it cuts off so much of the ACTIVE damage.
really, no matter who wins, Donald Trump is a piece of shit who should rot in a cell for the rest of the years he has left. Everyone who voted for him in 2020 is garbage. We can at least all agree on that
