The ridiculous care and attention to detail shown by @SupergiantGames even on the Patch Notes screen — a well-deserved thread.
First of all, it just looks pretty. The typography is on point. The colors make sense. The frame is detailed and tasteful. The accompanying music is top tier (as always with this game).
Again allow me to geek out about typography. There's a thing called "information visual hierarchy" that not many people — even designers — care enough about. But note here how things like color, bold, and italics are skillfully used to make info immediately clear and readable.
They crack jokes, and sometimes they're even good!
There's care even in not spoiling minor stuff such as names for some achievement-like things in the game, or who actually is the final boss. (Which, by the way, cool moment!!)
(This is unrelated to the Patch Notes screen, but this is something I just found out about and WTF THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN THIS GAME. @DarrenKorb is either a genius or ridiculously hard-working and obsessed. Possibly both.)
There's always a quote from mythology at the end of each patch note, just because.
And finally, what actually encouraged me to make this thread: they not only include changes suggested by the community, but they highlight them with this fun little shades icon. I don't know, I just think this is so neat.
What's really cool about all this is: it's just the patch notes screen. None of this is necessary. All of these things are just extra work they did because they just visibly care so much about polishing this thing.
Nobody would, like, rate the game a few points lower on a review because "the typography on the patch notes screen isn't well thought off". And yet @SupergiantGames took the time and made the effort.
