It’s possible the remaining states counting votes could all go in Biden’s favor. I’m feeling better about the election today, and I’m revisiting what the results mean for the US.

America is going through a culture war, and Trump effectively used fear and disinformation to mobilize anxious people in red states. But this is bigger than him, so even though Trump is done his followers still want to hang on to the old-fashioned ways. They fear the future.
The majority of Americans live in blue states, so when you look at the map with all that red in the middle it’s a misleading image. Many folks born in those red states moved to the blue ones for better lives and opportunities.

The “brain drain” impacted the blue/red divide. Southerners have long complained about losing most of their best and brightest to blue states, but red states have instead alienated the bulk of their most educated and skilled residents, forcing them to move. There’s resentment.
The election showed us that, like it or not, America is currently a moderate country. Most of us want to make overdue positive changes. Others fear that change and need convincing. We’re going to have to do a better job at talking things out in good faith to accomplish goals.
