Obviously this is a moment where we're dealing with shifting numbers, but the Right's attacks on polling places, threats against officials, and intimidation of the public at-large can't just be dismissed.

If you have watched even a shred of Right Wing media in the past couple of days, it is fully unhinged, conspiratorial paranoia and is discussing killing people, executing opponents, undermining voting altogether, and using the power apparatus of the government.

Trumpists right now are attacking their Republican peers, asking them to join in a fascistic attack on this vote, wondering why they haven't called for votes to be discarded. It is getting worse by the hour.

Trumpists will not accept defeat. They live in a completely alternate, cultish reality. Any thing that interferes with what they believe will be discarded immediately and the deliverer turned into an apostate.

The alternating call to end counting or restart counting is indicative of a malleable ideology. It's about power at all costs, about "deeper truths" that only they understand because they possess them all by themselves.

Again. This is a literal fascist coup. I know we're focusing on dealing with the ballots, but we CANNOT lose sight of what's happening. We have a MUCH larger situation that has to be recognized and addressed.

I've been warning about this for years, as has @sarahkendzior. We weren't just being alarmist. The foundation for this has been laid for years now. This operation didn't just manifest over night.

I believe Joe Biden will win this election. But the result of this contest is different from how this moment is being handled. Even if we celebrate and even if it is carried out peacefully, we cannot deny what has taken place over these last few days and years.

Watch the numbers. Celebrate the wins. But make no mistake. The mask has slid completely in this country. The Right, including Trump and GOP, is a fascistic movement.
