Which teams should we target over the next few weeks for clean sheets?

After seven matches played (six for Villa, Burnley, and both Manchester clubs) the teams with the worst defensive statistics so far this season are the three promoted clubs.
West Brom have the worst xGA with 13.68, followed by Leeds (12.85), and Fulham (11.50).

Including Liverpool, with 15, those sides have also conceded the most goals so far in the campaign.
Essentially portraying that xGA is in fact a reliable statistic to take into account.
However, Liverpool have only 8.47 xGA, underperforming with 6.53 more goals conceded.

This could suggest that Liverpool have either been unlucky, or have been let down by the goalkeeper in certain situations. Three deflected goals in a single game against Villa do skew the statistics slightly for them though. Their defence this season will improve, 100%!
Burnley, Villa, and Chelsea, are the three sides with the lowest xGA this season.
Villa and Chelsea are both performing as they should, and have kept a fair amount of clean sheets so far.
However, Burnley have only kept one, and are underperforming their 6.41 xGA massively!

This shows that Burnley are likely to pick it up defensively now and keep a few clean sheets with their promising next two fixtures approaching.
They have conceded 12 from 6.41 xGA. The best xGA in the league!

Chelsea have always had good statistics in recent seasons, defensively. However, the additions of Mendy, Chilwell, and Thiago Silva, have resulted in a lot more clean sheets. They have an xGA of 7.63, which is very solid.
Arsenal, Manchester City, and West Ham, are the next three teams with the lowest xGA.
Arsenal have really picked it up with the additions of Gabriel, and Partey to their starting eleven. They are one of three teams overperforming, with an impressive three clean sheets.

They have massively improved, but Arsenal defenders seem a wait and see right now.
Wolves and Sheffield are the two other teams over performing, and I would stay away from their defences with bad fixtures coming up. They don’t seem as solid as last season.

Southampton are also heavily underperforming their expected goals allowed, having conceded 12 goals from 8.91 xGA. Aswell, as Brighton having conceded 14 from 8.74 xGA.
Maybe this is a sign of clean sheets to come from players like McCarthy, KWP, and Lamptey.

To conclude, I’d look at bringing in defenders from teams with both low goals conceded and a low expected goals allowed. I’d look at selling those from teams like Wolves, with bad fixtures and not very impressive defensive stats.
