

The BMA has negotiated improvements to relocation and mileage expenses

The improvements include:
⢠An increase in the overall individual maximum allowance from £8k to £10k
⢠Additional allowance on top of the 10k for trainees after 8 years in training (important for LTFT trainees)

⢠Removal of the âcapâ placed on expenses eligible to be claimed by foundation docs
â˘The distance doctors are required to travel before claiming excess mileage to fall from 40 miles to 17.

⢠Trainees on OOP training retaining eligibility whilst on their OOP
⢠Flexibility for trainees to use their normal daily excess mileage costs towards temporary accommodation for a single night or run of nights, when they would prefer to not commute back home
