... but goddamn, y'all. Learn to package yourself better. Telling half of the population they are inherently evil is probably a bad election tactic. You DO need white votes. Avoid inherently negatively charged words like Socialism and Defund the Police.
Learn to compromise just a little bit. The fact the Dems can't compromise between Medicare for All and the public option, which would have little to no functional difference in practice, is gob smacking stupidity.
And for the love of all things holy, listen to people. A huge swath of this nation is being left behind and they either don't vote or they are Trump's most loyal supporters. And it's because you don't deliver anything to them. Stop assuming what they want and actually listen.
The Dems WON this election. They don't need to tear it all down, but they do need to work on things. The problem isn't the message, it's how its being communicated. Listen more and use better language. Don't be smug pricks who assume they know what's best for us.
Finally, don't shit on America. Most of us love this place. Yes, it's flawed. So is everywhere. But I once saw a left wing English socialist wax philosophic about America as the City on the Hill. Our international power derives from our moral leadership. Don't diminish that.
