I stopped involving myself with the SJ circles and deleted all the lectures of the SJ Shaykhs. Though I would retain certain PDFs for purposes of research and explaining how infantile their "fiqh" is.
Most of my Salafi friends didn't and one by one they cut off ties with me.

I remember arguing with my former best friend about how stupid their idea of global Jihad is and how it doesn't really give Muslims victory. It's merely an cheap attempt at gaining martyrdom.

He was planning to join the prominent SJ Shaykh and his "Mujahideen" for "Jihad" against the Burmese.
So we meet again after a couple of months and he spills beans about what exactly happened.

The problem of the SJ ideology is a real one. It's this same strand that lead to the Dhaka attack and some very gruesome murders.
However CVEs can't tackle this problem. Because they tend to target Islam and Muslims as a whole and tries to strong-arm them into secularism.

What is ultimately the solution to the SJ ideology?
It's more Muslim Ulema to stop pretending that apoliticism or quietism is a valid ideology.
If the right people aren't leading the righteous struggle against the kuffar, the wrong people will lead people with good intentionsâ

The community needs to be more active about enjoining good and forbidding evil instead of pretending that everything is fine and secularism is the best thing since sliced bread when we know for a fact that secularism is steeped in violence.

And people who keep supporting ISIS need to go back to basics and re-learn their Deen. What people do in war zones are exceptional scenarios and exceptions cannot define the norm.

People keep linking SJs to Qutb. I say Imran Hossein and Tablighis also have a bit of an influence in this fatalistic utilitarian mindset.
They might be polar opposites but they have the same sort of apathy towards suffering of people who aren't tied to their ideology.

HT and certain ideologues also showcase a similar apathy but the difference is their apathy doesn't result in this sociopathic ideology of making everyone suffer just to equalize the field.

Seems like a foolproof plan. 
These people have no concept of history or governance.

America suing for peace is not a sign of the decline(let alone fall) of the American Empire. They have stocked up and they are ready to wage war again. And that is why Taliban(they aren't SJs) knows that securing this peace deal is crucial.

The Salafi brother who made me into a practicing Muslim would go on to join Daesh and be killed in an airstrike.

From being Zakir Naik fan to a Salafi to HT to I don't know what I am now anymore.

But I haven't encountered anything as corrupt, divisive and oppressive as the Jihadist ideology within the fold of what one considers to be Islam.
