Top 10 lessons below.

// THREAD //
1. List

The more you list, the more you sell. If you have 300 items listed as opposed to 10 items listed, you have a much higher chance of selling something. It also shows that your profile is active
2. Activity

It is important that you are active on eBay, Amazon, etc. This includes shipping, listing, selling, and managing listings that you currently have. Platforms recognize people who put the work in and their algorithms show it.
3. Pictures

Pictures are an important part in selling your item. When someone searches for it, the pictures are going to set it apart and intrigue people to click on your item over others. Take better pictures.

Does not apply for Amazon.
4. Price

It is important to check what similar or identical items are selling at. Keep your price competitive but also reasonable. Your item may not be selling because you haven’t checked recently sold or are overpriced.
5. Promotion

I believe in promoting every listing. If you are worried about spending $1.00 on promotion, try raising your cost by $1.

You can calculate this in your final price. This applies to eBay, Mercari, Facebook, etc.
6. Ship fast and ship well

I have 1-day handling on everything that I sell. Generating labels not only helps your accounts for any algorithm, but also keeps your customers satisfied with quick deliveries.

Return customers are key.
Make sure that you are also packaging your item appropriately.

Collectible or valuable items should be shipped with care.
7. Leverage Quantity

Get your listing active by selling a few units under market value. Slowly increase your price on your remaining units as the number of sold items on your listing shows value and trust.

You will make more in the end.
8. Be Creative

Be creative in how you sell certain items. Combine similar items with one another to create an intriguing lot for the buyer.

You might be able to offer them a one-of-a-kind combination of items that the customer desires.
This more applies to eBay, Facebook, Mercari, etc.

Amazon is more of a single item listing.
9. Ratings and feedback

I will always take a few days a month to send messages out to everyone who has purchased from me. I will ask them to provide feedback if they have not.
Feedback doesn’t directly play into the algorithm but creates a trust that your buyer visualizes when purchasing from you.

This applies to eBay, Mercari, Facebook etc.

Amazon is different as customer feedback is not as prevalent.
10. Treat your customers right

Always ensure that you are taking care of them. If something gets lost or is delayed, let them know you are taking care of it. Let them know they are in good hands and can trust you as a seller.
Customers are your most important asset.
