Doug Jones saying the DSCC/DCCC doesn't invest in States & the Electorate is right (example: Espy's race was ignored).

AOC saying we need to figure out how to combat the GOP messaging is right.

Clyburn saying every member of the caucus should run to their district is right.
I'm sure "Defund The Police" hurt Jaime Harrison & Doug Jones & Dems in Red States. The GOP effectively branded every Dem candidate a socialist, even if they didn't run as socialists.

They are more effective at messaging, to an extent, b/c their base is easier to please.
The GOP knows their base is racist, so they use a Latina in their ads to try & connect Dem Candidates (who couldn't be any more different from said Latina) to said Latina. We talk alot about how we had record turnout this election, but so did they.

There's just more of us.
Joe Biden won because his base of voters, by & large, aren't as easily manipulated by ads & because his base, by & large, hasn't been manipulated by Fox News for the last 12 years. I'm not saying no racists voted for Biden, I'm sure they did, but this was a turnout election.
No conversion was really that necessary.

Folks were either going to sign up for four more years of racism & bigotry or they weren't.

Alot of people did.

In any event, there's alot of truth that we will have to come to in the coming months as we prepare for 2022 after GA.
AOC, Jamal Bowman, Cori Bush & candidates from those districts won b/c their messaging was tailored for their constituents.

Katie Porter, Lauren Underwood, Sharice Davids & candidates from those districts won b/c their messaging was tailored for their constituents.
We can't tell people run to their districts & then get mad when they do just that. We can't celebrate having a big tent & then get mad when that shows itself. I'd rather debate how to get to UHC over whether folks should even have healthcare.
We have to figure out a way to continue to center the progressive base (read: Black voters) of the party in downballot races during non-election years.

Its those efforts that create the infrastructure needed for Senate & House races to be successful during Presidential cycles.
At the end of the day, at least to me, it doesn't feel like a hollow victory. Joe won with a mandate to go big. He can do alot through executive order, but our goal has to be to hand them a 50-50 tie in the Senate. *45 won't be on the ballot in 2022 & we had historic wins in '18
When he wasn't on the ballot. I expect alot of that to continue. I expect the gerrymandering to be fought & I do believe the damage will be blunted there somewhat.

However, the GOP continues to show you they don't want to govern or win fairly, so we need to fix all of this so
