few players playing in the youth teams of professional clubs who didn’t make it and are now playing lower league football. Even though they have a great skillset and their athleticism is on point their perception seems to be the weak point. This is a small sample observation.
However, perception is so crucial for quick decision-making, so it is most likely the case that they failed to make it to the pros because of the lack of perception and information gathering.

Help players understanding the game. Therefore, bring your players in situations in training in which they have to make decisions under pressure. And teach them principles rather than saying how one should solve situation x. Whah do you think?
