20 years ago music dealt with real issues, like: in which circumstances is this guy Superman?
DMB "Where Are You Going": definitive no. No superman, nor even a common hero.
Goldfinger "Superman": no again—being Superman is an unattainable ideal, and attempting the facade contains its own risks and rewards
3 Doors Down, "Kryptonite": the guy is Superman. But do his actions warrant the honorific "Superman"? This is the song's driving question.
Eminem, "Superman": contested. In reputation, the guy is Superman, based on his ability to leap hoes in a single bound—well within the capacity of mortal men. Regardless, he is unable or unwilling to live up to the expectations of being Superman.
Lazlo Bane "Superman": definitive no. The guy is barely able to function as an adult and pathetically conflates doing so with being Superman.
