I equate higher education with the health care system. Trying to navigate it without a connection to that industry is near impossible. I had no one in my family who could help me navigate financial aid or college applications. Or could explain to me what I was signing or needed
I’ve gotten better at figuring it all out, but there’s still more I don’t know.
And I am very grateful for my education b/c learning is something I truly love doing. But this is not for everyone and we shouldn’t force everyone to go to higher Ed until they want to. We need to give more respect to trade schools and apprenticeships
Sorry for my rant, student loans and the higher education system will always be something I am passionate about because I have now spent a majority of my adult life in it
