Last night, we (a handful of volunteers) had to make the heartbreaking and very difficult decision to close our schools. I will admit that I shed more than a few tears after the meeting - which rarely happens. Our kids need to be in school. We didn't close because schools are not
safe. We closed because adults can't or won't stop spreading COVID outside of our schools. We don't have enough staff to teach our kids in school. I honestly do not understand what part of any of this people do not understand. Actions have consequences. A lack of action has
consequences. BSD did EVERYTHING in their power to keep schools open. But at the end of the day - those adults who have consistently chosen to gather with friends, go out for drinks, go get a nice meal at a restaurant - have won. While everyone is out having a great time, I will
be at home thinking about and being sad for our kids and the suffering they experience by not being in school. Drink up guys! Oh and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with all of your friends and family.
