I feel reassured by vaccine news this morning. I will remain an eternal pessimist (durability, possible dimished effect in final analysis, cost, logistics) but I feel a little better.

Our failure to implement testing and tracing, however, is a disgrace and missed opportunity.

And worse, the politicization of simple public health measures will likely obstruct implementation. They will never get that BS back in the bull.

We will look back and shake our heads at the Republican failure to govern as one of the most disgraceful episodes in US history.

Between the nepotism, lying, dismissal of expertise, politicization of public health, profiteering, carelessness, and rank stupidity, followed by complete abdication inthe face of a third wave with hundreds of thousands dead, this episode will remain infamous forever.
