Indie dev in 2020 is an utterly exhausting experience. You dedicate years of your life to creating something that you hope will find an audience, but the market is so saturated that your only real chances of success involve luck & being streamed by a currently-popular influencer.
I see so many advice threads on Twitter about making your game successful, and while well-intentioned, they are always situationally-specific and, frankly, inferred.

I can make inferences, I can take guesses, and there are some metrics-based decisions we made, but at the end of the day it was right-place, right-time. That's it. That's the secret.
