I'm not going to try to find excuse to forgive rosario for her transphobia because I love ahsoka and have always wanted to see her in live action. Frankly, it fucking sucks
That character in that show is going to be tainted for me now, forever, and trying to find loopholes to try and make it all okay in my brain just isn't how it works. That's some fucked up dissonance to me
I am, quite frankly, heartbroken. I think a lot of people are, and instead of confronting that pain and anger they're trying to find ways around it. But that's not how you fix things
That we have to even deal with this dissonance in the first place is bullshit. Watching mando is always going to hurt a bit because I can't just forget that the people playing the characters don't hate me & people I love
That these ideas and opinions are so accepted and handwaved away because she's gonna be playing a beloved character is PART OF THE PROBLEM. Twisting yourselves into pretzels to find excuses is how this stays as the status quo

This character means a lot to me. She means a lot to so many people, and now we have this situation where people are hurt and angry and finding excuses because they were SO EXCITED. and star wars let them down
For once I wish someone on high would go "actually yeah transphobia IS bad" and make sweeping changes for good. But they fucking won't ever do that if we forgive them because they throw us tasty treats
I love star wars, I like & respect a lot of people who work on it and consider some of them my friends, and I know most people don't actually have that much power. I know how big companies like that work. But I am still upset and frustrated and I want someone to do something
It's so tempting to forgive it because it's something we love. It's easy to brush stuff aside when it doesn't personally affect you. But after seeing uproars about there not being enough BLONDES in star wars? We can do better. We deserve better!!

Even if rosario wasn't an issue, we still have the glaring red flag of Gina, who we very clearly know hates a LOT of people who love star wars. So, y'know, this is already a problem
