This is this year’s Trafalgar Square Christmas tree at the annual felling ceremony today in Oslo.
This year, more than most, we need the Christmas cheer it traditionally brings.

The tree is more than 80 years old. And Oslo’s forestry services have had their eye on it as a candidate for Trafalgar Square for a while!

The Trafalgar Square tree is just one of many trees gifted to the UK by Norway.
Other cities receiving trees from Norwegian cities they have close links to: Edinburgh (from Hordaland), Aberdeen (Stavanger), Grimsby (Sortland), Newcastle (Bergen), Orkney (Hordaland/Grimstad).
