If you’re thinking about applying for a UK Deep Earth seismology PhD, where can you apply this year? Here is a non-exhaustive list, please add what I inevitably miss! 1/7(ish)
Firstly, beyond the project I’m offering ( https://www.nercgw4plus.ac.uk/projects-2021-22/novel-probes-of-upwelling-mantle-in-the-southern-pacific-ocean-using-floating-and-land-based-seismic-data), you could work with my @UoBEarthScience colleague James Wookey as part of the GW4+ DTP ( https://www.nercgw4plus.ac.uk/projects-2021-22/probing-mantle-dynamics-with-seismic-anisotropy)

My awesome collaborator, @DeepEarthExplor has a project available at Cambridge as part of the C-CLEAR DTP (3/7)
Newly hired by Durham, as part of the Iapetus DTP, you could work with Jenny Jenkins and @a_p_valentine (4/7)
At Leeds as part of the @PanoramaDTP it looks like there are projects with @seismorost and @timcraig01 and Andy Nowacki (5/7)
In London, you should remember Royal Holloway, as part of the ARIES DTP, working with @seismo_koel (6/7)
Other great seismo people to talk to who sometimes work on ‘Deep Earth’ topics include @seismo_amy and @seismodave in Aberdeen, Catherine Rychert in Southampton, Ian Bastow @ESEImperial and the seismology team @OxUniEarthSci (7/7)
I'm clearly missing some groups and advisors - let me know! (8/7)
Something I certainly missed - with the Brexit uncertainty, it is currently uncertain whether/how non-UK EU nationals can be supported by DTP funding. Do be aware of this, but don't let it stop you reaching out to prospective advisors (9/7)
