A few of my takeaways from the report... 1/n
1. Around one in five people are downwardly mobile; politicians and policy makers need to stop pretending downward mobility doesn’t exist and instead see that it has an important role to play in undermining the reproduction of class privilege
2. We need to distinguish between voluntary and involuntary downward mobility. Here the report shows that some social groups face ‘unfair’ involuntary downward mobility. For example, 40% of black African migrants in UK are DM, even when they have similar educational credentials
