I have faith in the kids to do the right thing. Parents, get out of the way with the conspiracy/hoax theories. Coaches, follow protocols and use additional precautions if necessary. This can and has spread to kids & their families through youth sports, so do the right thing.
I'm willing to sacrifice pretty much anything for kids to continue with school and activities, but I also know how awful this virus can be, seeing my mom and now several friends suffer from it. My mom is past the 1-month mark of symptoms, and she is "lucky" considering her age.
I have a friend who works in healthcare and for 6 months, masked up, didn't get the virus. Her kid was exposed at one basketball practice w/ no masks and now she has it, and at least 4 of the kids on the team have it, including her daughter.
Jay and I don't go out to eat or to bars, we won't have Thanksgiving with our extended families, we mask up, etc. Our healthcare worker friends are burned out.
I'm happy our kids can resume practices sooner rather than later, but everyone has to be on board with taking this seriously or it will not work.
