Today it is the 59th birthday of the most beautiful person on this planet: My mom!

In this thread I will share 59 things I have learned from my mom.

1. Balance in life is everything.
2. Read every evening to your child.
3. Set clear boundaries and rules, both in your family as personally.
4. Take responsibility for your mistakes.
5. No is a powerful word you need to use a lot more.
6. Your mind is often the limit to your goals.
7. Doing is worth a thousand times more than talking about it.
8. Always eat meals together as a family.
9. Use to-do list to reduce the daily mental clutter.
10. Never watch television while you eat.
11. Give love unconditionally.
12. Helping people is the most rewarding thing on this planet.
13. Reduce the amount of toxic people in your environment.
14. Forgiveness is not always the answer.
15. Spend most of your time doing things you truly enjoy.
16. Self care should be a top priority!
17. There is nothing better than a home-cooked meal.
18. Walking is the best exercise you can daily engage in.
19. You should know when to quit, know your limits.
20. There are no failures in life, there is only lack of trying.
21. Love takes effort.
22. You become stronger when you face adversity.
23. You should know when and who to forgive.
24. Always keep your house tidy and clean.
25. Be there to listen.
26. Only speak when you have something valuable to say.
27. Be humble.
28. Growing older enables you to put negative events more in perspective.
29. Be assertive when somebody is dishonest to your integrity.
30. Be consistent, sometimes even if you lost hope.

This one is more personal. Thank you mom for getting everyday to the hospital when I was admitted there because of my eating disorder.

You were there EVERY single day!
31. Have patience.
32. Expand your network by connecting often.
33. Know when to de-connect and spend time in solitude.
34. Read every single day.
35. Switch during your day between activity and inactivity.
36. Resolve useless and endless conflicts.
37. Give all your attention to the person who is speaking in a conversation.
38. Always stay playful.
39. Be grateful of the people you have in your life.
40. Giving overpowers receiving.
41. Nature is beauty.
42. Live in the now and capture every moment.
43. Everything is figure-out-able.
44. Family is everything.
45. Support a man his ambitions.
46. The relationship between mom and dad is the core of the family.
47. Caring for your family can be a purpose.
48. The best virtues of a woman are being trustworthy and loyal.
49. Always know the expectations of your partner.
50. Be welcoming to guests and strangers.
51. Don't use mistrust as a guide.
52. Never use people as a means to an end.
53. Stay educated and curious.
54. Stay fit, even when you become older.
55. Be proud of your family and friends.
56. Use alcohol in moderation.
57. Prioritize your health.
58. Age is just a number.
59. Your children always come first.

In the case of my mom this is especially the case for her daughter!!
