Dear Louisville,
Today is my last day at @WLKY. Anchoring and reporting sports in my hometown has truly been an honor, and after nearly nine years, it’s not easy to say goodbye.
Today is my last day at @WLKY. Anchoring and reporting sports in my hometown has truly been an honor, and after nearly nine years, it’s not easy to say goodbye.
I appreciate everyone who watched, followed along, or let me tell their stories. I’m excited to move into a marketing and communications position outside of TV.
I have so many people to thank for my opportunities at WLKY, starting with @Andrea_Stahlman and @FredCowgillWLKY, who gave in to a morning traffic reporter who insisted on covering sports, and created a position for me.
Thanks to @WLKYVickiDortch, @WLKYRick and @WLKYJayCardosi. I have so much respect for the professionalism you bring to each newscast. It was an honor working alongside of you.
Thanks to @JohnWDRB and @KendrickHaskins for being my football friends, my basketball friends, and two of my favorite people on the planet. I cannot thank you enough for the kindness you showed me when I was learning the ropes.
Some of my favorite on-air moments were shared with @DanKoob during the rocketship ride that was Sports Saturday. Thank you for all of your hard work on our show, your friendship over the years and your vastly underrated skills as an artist. #SAGA
It’s not always easy being a woman in sports media. Sometimes, I was the only woman in the room, but over the years I was lucky enough to work with @Katie_George05, @whitneyNBC4, @AnniceMcEwan and @AnyMoreSports. It was a privilege working with all of you.
Thanks to all of the hardworking SIDs in Louisville, most notably @KKcards, @Rocco_Gasparro, @nickev14 and @GWallSID. Being a hometown girl reporting on the hometown team was a dream come true, and you guys helped make it possible.
I can’t say enough about all of the amazing coaches in this city, especially @BellarmineHoops, who is an incredible coach and an even better person. I’ll miss stopping by practice and our chats on Sports Saturday. Can’t wait to go to a game as a Bellarmine fan now!
Thank you to @CoachChrisMack, @christimack30 and everyone with the @MackFamilyFDN. I respect the important and inspiring work you’re doing to help kids learn to love reading, and can’t thank you enough for letting me play a role in it.
It's been an amazing journey, and I will cherish it forever. I love this city. I love you all. Thank you.
