A very treacly week finally ending with some good news all round. One of the things is that today we had delivered for my Mum in her care home a new enooooooormous TV for her room as she enjoys spending more time in there these days. My Dad would have had apoplexy!
Dad didn’t like either the idea of watching much TV, or having a large set, or paying for one! We only got a colour TV when I was 14 because my uncle was getting rid of his. It finally replaced the B&W portable we’d had for years.
When visiting my parents as an adult, I literally had to sit on the floor to watch TV because the tiny screen was too far from the settee for my rubbish eyesight.
The tiny thing was on a bracket that folded into a cupboard. When my friend’s son visited for the first time, he couldn’t understand why they didn’t have a TV!
Anyway, very happy to think of Mum being entertained by her very own hi tech entertainment system all for herself. Maybe I’ll get her a popcorn maker.....
