This is incorrect, and demonstrates your lack of knowledge when it comes to Mario lore. Yet another overdone “Mario is the real bad guy actually” bullshit theory, that I’m perfectly happy to be the one to disprove! More info in the thread below. https://twitter.com/JasperRLZ/status/1329693825086877696
The Mandibug species are heavily implied to be an ancient species that once inhabited the Lost Kingdom before it became poison infested ruins, which adds up considering it’s current bug-like inhabitants, such as the Tropical Wiggler variants and the Trapeetles.
This is because the starburst symbol, the symbol associated with the Mandibugs, is mainly present in this kingdom’s architecture and technology. Their technology is also seen in various other places, but that’s another can of worms.
The Mandibugs travelled to space and now reside in various places, but mainly bug-themes galaxies like the Gold Galaxy and Honeyhive Galaxy. They are at war with the Honeybees. Their technology branding the starburst symbol can also be found in these galaxies in various forms.
Now, getting to how this relates to the Whomp King. Many assume that Whomps primarily serve Bowser, but when you look into things, that theory doesn’t really make sense. Unlike Thwomps, they are rarely ever seen in Bowser’s castles.
They also share few similarities with Thwomps, aside from their expression and primary function: to crush Mario. The first time you see them, they are in their own fortress, serving under the Whomp King, as his subjects.
Modern iterations of the Whomps have them brandishing the same starburst symbol as the Mandibugs and their creations. And since Whomp’s Fortress is later shown to be part of the Throwback Galaxy, it is safe to assume that the Whomps are a creation of the space dwelling Mandibugs.
As opposed to Thwomps being a creation of Bowser. It’s speculated that they were abandoned by the Mandibugs after being deemed ineffective weapons, or forms of infrastructure. It’s unclear on why they Mandibugs abandoned them.
It is implied nowhere that they built Peach’s castle, only stated that they are tired of being used and mistreated for architecture and then discarded. This plays into the idea that they were abandoned by the Mandibugs after being deemed ineffective at what they were made to do.
The castle is not built by Whomps, and is not made of Whomps. The Whomp King is simply misguided. He seems to believe that all stone is sentient as he and his subjects are, and that the Mandibugs’ mistreatment of his kind is how everyone sees Whomps.
Given the fact that Bowser was the one who gave him his power star, it’s safe to assume that he was convinced by Bowser that Mario was his enemy, thus why he is hostile towards Mario.
An abandoned species of war machines and tools, given a false sense of hope by a demon king.

So please put a little more research before spewing the same tired old “main character real bad guy” trope.
Once again, misinformation. In the first game he was falsely gifted a mansion as a trap set by King Boo, in the second he explores various building that are not his, and in the third he literally just goes to a hotel. There are no “tenants” they are ghosts that serve King Boo. https://twitter.com/JasperRLZ/status/1329479230640459779
The ghosts actively torment him and attack him. There are friendly ghosts, which he doesn’t attack. One of which is his literal pet ghost dog that accompanies him in the second and third games.
“It’s just a joke” then I’m sorry but, try being funny next time? Or at the very least original, because people have been telling this same fucking low hanging fruit joke for literal decades now. You’re just saying “Mario is a cop and Luigi is a landlord”, where is the funny.
