Is the "LGB Alliance" a hate group?
Well, that's an oversimplification. They most certain are a hate group, and act the same as any other anti-LGBT hate group, but more than that, they're something more sinister: They are controlled opposition. And that's considerably worse.

Don't get me wrong, the fact that they oppose anti-bullying measures in schools, campaign against hate crime legislation when hate crimes against LGBT community is on the rise, imply that gay teachers are predators, etc... That's all absolutely standard hate group stuff.
But more specifically, they were formed to undermine and replace the UK's national LGBT charity, Stonewall. They applied for charitable status in the UK. One of their stated goals was to have Stonewall's school curriculum withdrawn, and replace it with one of their own making.

And I would like reiterate that yes, they're fundamentally attempting to roll back progress made by the LGBT, not just in the UK, but worldwide. They'd like to see LGBT kids scared and alone with no information or help available, or anti-bullying measures to protect them.
And again, they're directly linked to the Heritage Foundation, a far-right religious think tank from the US that pushes an extreme anti-LGBT and anti-abortion agenda. That is what's so sinister about them. They're not just a hate group; they're masquerading as a legitimate LGB rights organisation, seeking to undermine the existing charity that fights for LGBT rights, and replace them, while being nothing but an arm of the religious right.
And that is why I'm saying they're something far, far more sinister than just a hate group. A regular anti-LGBT hate group are pretty up front about their intentions, but one that tries to pass itself off as being for gay and lesbian rights? That's far more insidious.
Imagine for a second they hadn't faced such public scrutiny and pushback and got their way?
