it is legitimately depressing that people feel smart arguing that protesters are working against their own cause by “forcing” the state to spend more money... on brutality against themselves? you do know the state had the OPTION of NOT spending millions of dollars on tear gas?
it is disgusting that localities nationwide, in the midst of a pandemic & economic crisis, have allocated money for chemical weapons over food, rubber bullets over eviction prevention, tanks over PPE, incarceration over housing. that’s not on us. we didn’t do that.
