The fact Chip doesn’t have a classic album when he’s one of the best in country really really upsets me..
Me and my boys had a huge argument about this.. we all agree he’s the best but they think he isn’t capable of doing it.. I think he is.. he just needs a sick A&R and commit to the idea of telling a story through an album..
The issue is it won’t get instant “hype” as a freestyle/diss track/club banger would.. which is a tough thing to swallow as this rap ting is super fickle and you can “fall off” in a blink of an eye..
but look at what Kano’s done.. carved out his lane and dropped critically acclaimed albums that resonate with his fans deeply.. he doesn’t have to participate in the hullabaloo and I honestly feel like Chip is more than capable of that..
Chip’s story is absolutely fascinating.. reminds me a lot of Kendrick’s..
“A Good Kid in a Mad City” I’d love to hear a body of work that speaks on it properly.. what’s frustrating there’s been so many glimpses of it

Anyway, even if he never drops a “classic album”.. I’ll always be a massive fan of Chip.. I think his versatility.. ability to find new pockets delivery of his lyrics with clarity, conviction and sauce is second to none! And I’ll ALWAYS press play
