After seeing many COVID patients, here are some takeaways to help the general public identify it earlier:
🔹Most initially thought they had a cold, allergies, etc.
🔹Very few actually have fevers at any point
🔹Headache is a common early symptoms for many adults
🔹While many can have brief courses, others can have worsening symptoms during days 7-10 and onward
🔹Night-time symptoms are common. Helpful to consider treatments before bedtime
🔹Fatigue specifically can take longer than two weeks to return back to baseline
Hoping continued education helps people get tested sooner. Many who do contract the virus are not prepared for the duration or severity of symptoms so we need to set reasonable expectations with patients as well in the clinic setting.
