Lots of interesting data in the StatCan database dealing with mortality. Here's the death counts for Canada & the Provinces.

Few things jump out: 1) The usual pattern for death is a gradual rise from end of summer with a peak in Jan. But strangely, this virus peaked in Apr
2) Don't worry about the d/o in Sep, deaths aren't all reported
3) Comparing the 2020 peak to 2018 at their intersections gave an extra 5165 deaths this yr so far but considering Cdn death rate climbs about 1.2%/yr, that worked out to an extra .6% (so far)

4) This isn't a Cdn pandemic, it's Quebecois. Scroll thru the link. ON has a minor bump, the rest aren't even noticeable but QC was the province driving the numbers.
So how many Cdns die each yr & from what? Crunching the numbers, here's what the last 2 decades look like:
1) Gradually, with population rise, we're dying about 1.8% more/yr.
2) Heart disease & stroke are gradually decreasing & cancer is gradually increasing.
Here's the same graph with the numbers up until Sep. Canada has a long ways to go to even equal last yr. The last bars are the assumption that 75% of this year's deaths are reported & they are projections of year end totals. Huh, I thought we were having some deadly pandemic?
This was interesting compiling the monthly deaths for 1991 to 2019. We always have regular peaks & troughs over the yrs with Jan, Dec, Mar, & Feb being the worst mths. Wow, we should shut everything down every few yrs, oh, nevermind, no one even noticed 2018.
Here's the same graph with 2020 numbers thrown in: there's the bump up in Apr/May but notice how they don't reach the Jan peak of 2018? After that everything went back to normal.

So the question is wtf are we still freaking out over this non-pandemic?!?
