My thoughts
This is quite unfortunate. Simply put, A and C want different things out of their relationship. I can't really speak on what A wants because that would be speculative but it is clear that C wants an exclusive relationship in which she can blossom as the main chick.

What's interesting to note is how C deluded herself into thinking that A couldn't be serious with B. This dishonesty to self was necessary to prop up the affection she felt and to keep hope alive.

I think C became aware of, and accepted her position in A's life in light of B's presence. To my mind, the proof for this is the secrecy of her relationship with him.

Assuming C's story is 100% true, it'd mean that A cheated on B with C. However, A's history with C takes this cheating to another realm and makes it more difficult to assign the binary 'right or wrong' judgement to this case.
Furthermore, I struggle to see how the affair that went on for 2 years is something that A did to C. As adults, both of them are responsible for their actions. So, without coercion to stay in the arrangement, I struggle to see how C is a victim.
This does not invalidate the toll of the relationship on C's mental health (as she has admitted).
It will suffice to add that if A and C agreed to keep their relationship private, then C is wrong to publicly share details of it without A's permission. Also looks manipulative.

In conclusion, this na man and woman matter. It is not expected to make sense.
I may be wrong but I can imagine that A and C will continue to see each other for the immediate future except A walks away.

I empathise with C. She has not been very lucky with relationships and has admitted to being the victim of abuse in a past relationship. I understand why she'd be so in love with someone who brought her happiness and boosted her self esteem.
