A short thread on why I think we should be looking to play 433 Now goalless in 3 we have struggled to get our wide men into the game enough in dangerous areas. Too many times finding them dropping deep and too much inside to get on the ball in the build up. #NFFC
Ameobi especially likes to drift inside but when he does we lose balance. This phase of play I'd have liked to see 1 of a mid 3 pick up his position and he be wide left keeping width. For me Ioannou has to be the option at LB when we play Ameobi who drifts inside. #NFFC
1st half at Oakwell was our best attacking display of the season and for most part Lolley and Knockaert kept great width and we had joy from that. Knockaert keeps good width here and Lolley makes a good run from wide right too which is hard to pick up for defenders. #NFFC
Here is another great example of Knockaert staying wide initally, stretching Barnsley and then making a run inside to get his shot away. #NFFC
Here Lolley has kept wide right, getting on the ball and then driving inside but eventually defended well for a corner. #NFFC
When you do keep your wingers wide it does leave you a little more vulnerable as we saw to at Oakwell. With the extra man put into midfield it would sure things up a bit, allow our wide players a little more freedom to push higher up and cause problems, on the counter too. #NFFC
Guerrero played well at Oakwell, held the ball up well, especially in the first half but if that player in the 10 role isn't affecting the game, you have a real problem, as we saw with Arter against Bournemouth and Guerrero against Swansea. #NFFC
