JLo Beauty....where do we start?
As a Latina, I grew hearing JLo’s name everywhere. From the men she’s dated, the booty and the bawdy, the lewks, the music, everything. So let’s just start with saying I am a fan of hers.
BUT.....the beauty line seems a little...off. Keep in mind we are talking about JLo, one of the pioneers of celebrity lines. 2002, she launched Glow by JLo and that started the boom of celebrity product lines. I begged for that perfume!
While it’s still in pre-order, I watched her IG Live talking about the products and her first promo video. Seems like it’s centered around olive oil.
Things to point out....for now:

Packaging.

It’s giving me mass produced dated look that ends up in the clearance section of TJMaxx and Marshall’s.
I’ll give it to JLo who comes from a different era of glam. Shiny, metallic, bulky, bougie. Which isn’t a bad thing. But then she went ahead and tried to give it a millennial/Gen Z twist with the names like That Blockbuster and That Hit Single.
Another thing is that I think she released too many products at once. If she trying to market this as her “skincare secret in a bottle”, i would’ve left it at a serum, sheet mask, and maaaaybe the SPF and cleanser.
Im a little afraid to see what the ingredients are going to look like. She spoke about her SPF and said she noted how ppl complain a lot about fragrance so she took it down a notch to a “light scent”.
Listen, I want my girl to thrive. She gets a lot of hate (some deserved) but credit is due to her for having a successful career as long as she’s had. BUT, I wish she would’ve gotten more feedback on this line.
Anyways, that’s my two cents on the line so far since I’ve seen a lot of comments on how bad it is but her fans seem to love it.
