Tanushree holds a Master's Degree (with Gold Medal) in the Bengal School 'wash' painting technique. Popularized by Shri Abanindranath Tagore.
This 8-step style of watercolor painting involves detailed and skillful drawing by the artist, then a washing of the painted areas several times to 'fix' the colors, and finally tonal highlighting by hand.
Finally the wash color is fixed by pouring water over the entire painting and letting it drain away and dry. This method takes many years of study and practice to perfect.
The effect created cannot be matched by any other technique, both in terms of delicacy of color application and in terms of drawing techniques.
