First of all, let us say: HOORAH! We want you to apply for a MusiCounts Band Aid Grant too, so we're offering a few tips to help you get your application together as simply and efficiently as possible. We know your time is precious, and we want you to be successful. Thread

If you’re on the fence about whether or not to dedicate some precious time to this project, let's lay a few things out before we start:
This is a great year to apply. We are awarding one million dollars via the MusiCounts Band Aid Program and we want to make a big impact this year. If your school needs new instruments and equipment, we urge you to apply!
This doesn’t need to be a whole-weekend project (we'll give you some tips below to keep this speedy and efficient). This is a one-pot-of-coffee project. Promise.
Here are our Top 5 Tips:
1 - Before you get started on your application, it will be really helpful to have a clear vision of where your school's music program is and where you'd like it to go. We'd like to know what real-deal impact MusiCounts Band Aid funding will have. Some specifics will help.
2 - Give the sample application a read through to get a head start on some of the statistics we're looking for. Estimates are totally acceptable here. https://www.musicounts.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/EN-Band-Aid-Sample-Application-2018-19.pdf
3 - Stage 1 of the application covers the basic “Five W’s” of your school. You'll likely have all the info handy.
4 - When you get to Stage 2, we ask for an inventory of your music program's instruments and equipment. Give us a bird’s-eye view of this, rather than a detailed manifest. We'd like to know the general volume and state of your school's existing resources
5 - The success of your application doesn't hinge on the supporting documents. It's great to see a school community rally behind a music program, but this element of the application is not make-or-break.
BONUS TIP! Word counts are a suggested upper limit. Be concise, be precise, and save your writerly flourish for your testimonials if you're awarded the grant!
