So @Twitch is getting rid of tag “blind play through” because it is offensive to blind people.
BULL. SHIT.
This decision and discussion obviously didn’t include any of us blind people.

I’m blind. I’m not offended by blind play-through because neither use of the term is negative, nor am I offended by the word BLIND.
TWITCH TERM USE 1. Literal. Doing something while being blind, or without vision ie blindfolded.
(This is beautiful, not offensive.)

Blind people are capable, people. The idea someone can do something extraordinary while being blind is beyond most of society, but it is not offensive, it is extraordinary.

...right?
If you’re sighted & think a blind person would be upset by the use of the word “blind,” it means you believe blind people to be overwhelmed and owned by their blindness, and therefore must be offended by their own state of being.

THIS way of thinking is offensive, not the use of the word.
These “outrages” and social justice warriors would do a lot better to check their misconceptions, their own shortsightedness about the idea of blindness.

Try TALKING to the blind community before putting words and feelings in our mouths.
Our minds and mouths work just fine, it’s our vision that’s fucked.

Get your shit together, people. The PC inclusiveness fight doesn’t work if you don’t pull your head out of your butt to listen to the community instead of coming to your own off-base conclusions.

Here’s an idea more people would do well to listen to- if you don’t have the disability you and preaching compassion and action for, nor have done the work to learn about it, shut the actual fuck up. Haha. Seriously.
