I'm not disagreeing with Colin, here. I'm adding an explanation.
What "seems" complex is the cause of the circumstances that people use as their excuses for their sin. Humanistic religion assumes we are naturally good and only do bad because of something bad that happened to us. https://twitter.com/ColinLundstrom/status/1335932970880929792

Thus, when someone does something objectively and demonstrably evil, we want to ascribe a cause to it. Christians know that the cause is that we sinned in Adam, brought a curse on the world, and are hopelessly depraved sinners. The result of our sin nature is that we sin and make
excuses for it. For god-haters, the presumption is that people are basically good and would not choose something bad if they just had better circumstances. This allows people to still claim biblical morality by claiming something like abortion is bad while excusing it completely.
This is a form of godliness while denying its power. Paul warns Timothy of false teachers who will espouse this attitude. It isn't enough for them to simply "be evil" and enjoy their sin. They want to be seen as righteous and receive the applause of men.
Always dig to the root.
Always dig to the root.
There is an underlying belief system that drives this drivel and by understanding that and teaching the proper religion we can save others by snatching them out of the fire, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.
