Some probably-too-late holiday gift ideas for people who like to cook:
1. A good rice cooker, like the Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy NS-ZCC10 (which I have and love)
2. Whetstones. I just got some and while I really just like having sharp knives if you know anyone who likes fiddling with their hands (eg shining their shoes) then using a whetstone is like that. I got 1000 and 6000 grit king stones but I have no expertise here.
3. Lodge cast iron pans or a lodge dutch oven. They’re wonderful and as good as much more expensive equivalents. A kitchen essential.
4. If you like coffee but can’t manage doing your fancy aeropress thing anymore while kids run around demanding cereal (🙋‍♂️), the Technivorm Moccamaster is a great drip coffee maker.
5. Cookbooks! I love Every Grain of Rice by Fuchsia Dunlop (intro to Chinese) and Deep Run Roots by Vivian Howard (Southern/Carolinas).
